S&M Moving Systems, an Industry leader in Corporate and Residential moving for over 90 years both domestically and internationally, recently chose C3 Construction to renovate their office space. C3 Construction won the S&M Moving project by interviewing with a confident and capable team and showcasing that we are a group of professionals that work well together and enjoy what we do.
Director of Construction with C3 for over 2 years, Matt Westmoreland, ran and oversaw the project. After completion of the project, Matt wrote, “It was a pleasure to work with S&M Moving and they absolutely loved the space.” The S&M renovation took place on 2 separate stories, and consisted of: new restrooms, open offices, cubicles, executive suites and conference rooms. The building received a complete facelift from top to bottom.
The biggest obstacle in this project, that was gracefully overcome, was that during the renovation S&M was an occupied and operating facility. This required that during the build, the operating and existing business could not be disrupted by dust, noise or any other type of disturbance. The water and electric also had to remain untouched and up-and-running.
Lucky for S&M Moving, this is old hat for C3 and one of our areas of expertise. The renovation of the active site went off without a hitch. Matt explained that one of the reasons why C3 Construction moves with such fluidity when working on an active site is by requiring “coordination with the owner and architect in regards to a phasing plan.” C3 puts a great deal of time, thought and effort into the planning and prepping phase of a renovation or of a build.
C3’s flexibility with such projects helps their clients continue to work in their familiar environment without causing disruption to a businesses’ productivity or to their clients’ bottom line. “We just hopscotched through the building, completing areas and then moving on to complete the rest.” Matt explained.
Dale Snider, Director of Office/Industrial Sales at S&M Moving said that he was pleased with the end result of the project, “Everything went very well on-site and the people in the (C3) office were very professional.” Even though we had to stay in between narrow lines and tip-toe through this project, C3 revels a challenge and we are proud to say that, at its completion, our client and C3 were able to enjoy the process and at the end present a beautiful new space.
